Product Description : Liquid Polymer Emulsion

EP - 40 is a low viscosity, liquid emulsion of a high molecular weight. Added to low-solids drilling fluids to increase lubricity, fluid viscosity, and to improve carrying capacity of air/foam injection fluids. Partially Used primarily as a borehole stabilizer to prevent reactive shale and clay from swelling and sloughing. 34% active

Typical Application

EP - 40 is applicable for use in water based drilling fluids, as a shale stabilizer, encapsulating agent , water shutoff agent, viscosifier, and flocculant. This product is functional in fresh water, seawater, KCI brine, and salt (NaCI) water based drilling fluids.

Recommended Treatment

For shale stability and encapsulation, a concentration of (0.6 –4 kg/m³)EP - 40 is normally required.

EP - 40 may be added directly and persistently or continuously (by a dosing device  such as a hopper ) to the surface of a well agitated mixing or suction pit or the mud. Secondly, it may also be diluted to glue soluting or water solution (1%-1.5% ) then add the glue soluting into the mud system or the surface of the well.

Handling

Employees should utilize normal precautions when handling chemical products. The use of a face shield or chemical goggles, chemical gloves and apron are recommended when handling this product. In case of eye contact, flush with clean fresh water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice. In case of skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and launder before reuse, wash the effected area with soap & water. Review the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product prior to use.

Storage

Store in closed containers, at ambient temperatures, in a ventilated area, protected from precipitation. Long term outside storage should be avoided to prevent deterioration of package and labeling.

Store at room temperature (0-40 centigrade) and must be stored free from strong sunlight.

Within 6 months.
